Unless Nigerians begin to see and live with one another as one family, we will perish as fools, the country Director Global Peace Foundation Nigeria John Oko has said.
He stated this in Kaduna at the opening ceremony of a capacity building workshop organized by a Non Governmental Organization, the Global Peace Foundation of Nigeriaunder the ‘One Family under God Campaign program’.
According to the Director, once Nigerians begin to live as one family, all the violence and crisis experienced in the country will disappear. He noted that the Foundation is building a global network and regional peace-building model as the foundation guided by the vision of ‘one family under God’.
The Director added that the program was launched in Abuja and Kaduna State was pick first to commence the programme, noting that a lot of successes have been recorded some of communities they visited.
In his remark, the Director General, Interfaith of Kaduna State, Mallam Namadi Musa who represented Government said Kaduna State Government is to establish synergy and harmonious working relationship with relevant peace building organizations in the state.
He added that the state was giving adequate attention to
organizations that aimed at promoting peace for the progress of the state and the country at large. He maintained that the state would set up machinery to organize training the trainer programs across various parts of the state.
In their separate remarks, co-coordinators of the Global Peace Foundation of Nigeria, Reverend Joseph Hayab and Mallam Abdullahi Haliru Maraya expressed determination to promote a society where various ethnic-religious groups would share things in common.
