Nigeria Football Family, Top Dignitaries Bids Late Kapaka Farewell

Top football administrators from all over Nigeria converged on Kaduna to pay their last respect to the Kaduna Football Association Chairman Honourable Abdulkadir Magaji Kapaka, who  passed away in Lagos on Tuesday.

The  Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was represented by a team of board members, led by the League Management Company (LMC) Chairman, Shehu Dikko, accompanied by the General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi.

Also in the entourage, were board members, Honourable Yusuf Fresh, Yahaya Kwande and FA Chairmen from several states of the federation.

Before proceeding to the cemetery, prayers for the repose of his soul were held at his residence on Jabi Road, Kaduna.

After the interment, speaker after speaker described the deceased as generous and humble while he was alive.

A close friend of the late Kapaka who spoke to newsmen at his residence, Atiku Abubakar Sali said they owe his family support.

“I have known Kapaka for several years and he is a good friend, brother and colleague. He was kind, gentle and above all, generous.

“Though we loved him, but God loves him most. We are ready to support the family because we are one,” he added.

The late Kapaka died at the age of 52 on Tuesday in Lagos, with his sudden demise throwing the football family into mourning.

His corpse arrived the Kano Airport on Tuesday night before being conveyed to Kaduna for burial according to Islamic injunctions on Wednesday.
