Youth of Niger Delta have passed a vote of confidence on Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye for professionalism, integrity and success in combating crime across the state.
The youth under the umbrella body of Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYCN), described the police boss in the state as apolitical, fair-minded and stickler to duties of fighting crime and ensuring safety of lives and property of citizens.
The Police Commissioner was commended in a statement signed by President of NDYCN Comrade Ufuoma Victor Erharhine for stabilizing the political temperature in the state since his assumption of duty by ensuring politicians and their supporters play by the rule irrespective of party or camp.
Erharhine eulogized astuteness and patriotism of CP Adegboye which he said motivated the commissioner not to compromise basic values and ethics of his profession of putting country and citizens first above personal or political advantages.
“We have keenly observed and followed socio-political and security developments in Edo State since the CP assumed duty as police boss in the state and We can confidently proclaim that he has been a good and shining example for others to emulate.
“The CP has distinguished himself by exhibiting high professionalism and loyalty to Country through relentless commitment to make Edo State safe and conducive for law-abiding citizens to go about their legitimate daily activities.
“He has succeeded in bringing crime and associated activities such as street and campus cultism to a halt in a short period of time since he assumed duty.
“Adegboye has won the hearts of the Edo people by putting their security and that of their property first.
“He has equally garnered praises from his subordinates, cutting across rank and files in the Edo State Command for prioritizing welfare of officers and men under his watch.
“We therefore by this declaration celebrate an icon of integrity in service to fatherland and affirm our belief and faith that Nigeria will be great with the example of CP Adegboye at helm of security and public affairs,” the statement emphasised.
