The Centre for International Integrity Peace and Development in Nigeria (CIIPAD), a non governmenral organization, has recommended 19 Officers and men across the country for an award and promotion by the Nigeria Police Force and the Presidency from their present positions.
This was contained in a letter to the Inspector-General of Police and the Presidency, signed by the Director General, Chief Amb. Ime Stephen, who is also the president Coalition of Nigeria Civil Society Groups.
He said “the award if approved will encourage them to do more on the fight against corruption in the country which is the focal point of this administration”.
The centre, he said, “is a member of the National Anti-Corruption Coalition an affiliate of the Independent corrupt practices and other related offences Commission ( ICPC) as well as other Secruity agencies on the fight against corruption”.
Its goals include to promote and encourage peace in our environment both within and outside the shores of Nigeria, ensure and uphold the integrity of the nation, encourage good governance by contributing ideas as well as supporting the fight against corruption.
It mandate are information gathering, reserch, studies and survey on oesce strategies and facility safety, education and sanitisation activities as well as advocacy and community mobilisation.
The organization took an independent survey of those shortlisted for the award across the country.
They are CP, Kabiru Mohammed Ibrahim AP No, 25123, CP, kebbi state, Insp. Margaret Bassey AP No 145904, Cross River State, SP Patience Adeboye Akinade AP No 88006, River State Police command.
Others are, Sp Musa Saidat AP No.87745, legal officer FCIID, Force headquarters, Abuja, Insp. Idris Ibrahim AP No.141314, Adamawa State Police command among others.
According to him, ” these Distinguished officers and men have demonstrated disciplinary character/action that strengthens the campign against corruption and other societal crimed which is the Hallmark of this present administration”.
He, therefore, described the efforts of these officers and men as patrotic and commendable hence they deserve to be appreciated and commenced in an open ceremony to boost more quality results in policing and for other officers to emulate.
The award ceremony is billed for February 22nd or 23rd, 2019 at the Nigeria Police headquarters, Abuja at 10. am .
