The New Year Mega Lottery has officially launched its operations in Abuja, offering over N70 billion in potential annual winnings to customers.

This significant development is expected to positively impact the lives of Nigerians.

Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Sunday Olaleye, emphasized the importance of giving back to society during the launch event held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

He highlighted the company’s commitment to empowering Nigerians.

“Considering the current economic situation, we aimed to create jobs and provide opportunities for Nigerians to elevate themselves out of poverty,” Mr. Olaleye said.

This statement underscores the company’s focus on economic development.

He further explained the positive impact of lottery on economies worldwide and its potential to contribute to Nigeria’s development.

“Lottery has created over 30,000 jobs through our agents, sales point agents, distributors, and mega agents,” Mr. Olaleye added.

He also discussed the company’s partnership with the Nigerian Nationwide League.

“We identified the league’s potential and decided to become title sponsors, renaming it the New Year Mega Lottery Nationwide League.” He said.

This partnership aims to support grassroots football and boost the sport in Nigeria.

The New Year Mega Lottery Nationwide League is expected to benefit from this partnership. Mr. Olaleye explained, “Our goal is to promote football development and provide opportunities for young talents to shine.”

When asked about the inclusion of NNL matches in the Mega Lottery, Mr. Olaleye clarified, “Players and officials can participate in our lottery, as it’s not sports betting, but rather a chance to win through our various products.” This distinction is crucial in understanding the lottery’s operations.

Director of Public Relations, Obiora Emanuela, explained that the lottery offers multiple products. “We have various games and promotions designed to cater to different interests and preferences,” she said.

“These products offer opportunities for players to win over N70 billion in total,” Ms. Emanuela added. This significant potential winning is a major draw for customers.

She also highlighted the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. “New Year Mega Lottery partners with Estadele Foundation to empower women, widows, orphans, and less privileged individuals.” This partnership demonstrates the company’s commitment to social development.

Mr. Olaleye also addressed security concerns at league venues. “We’ve looked at how to partner with Nigerian referees to prevent match-fixing and ensure fair play.” This collaboration aims to maintain the integrity of the games.

The launch event marked the beginning of New Year Mega Lottery’s operations in Abuja. With its focus on empowering Nigerians and contributing to the country’s development, the company is poised to make a significant impact.
