The Vice Chancellor Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba has charged the new executive members of the Postgraduate Representative Council (PRC) to be proactive.
He made the call while inaugurating the new executives of the council held at the University Senate Chambers, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administrtion, Prof. Kabir Bala.
Prof. Garba reminded the new executives that, the university has rules that need to be carefully abided as well as the over riding interest should not be over blown.
According to him, the university management always wants the system to be maintained by carrying everybody along as a tradition of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
On the welfare of students, the Vice Chancellor said the university is trying its best to provide all the necessary atmosphere for conducive teaching, learning and research to both staff and students.
While giving a sound of warning that, the university will not allow any delay for the graduation of postgraduate students deliberately either by lecturers or students.
The Vice Chancellor encouraged a cordial relationship between students and their supervisors in order to have a successful and peaceful academic programme.
In his inaugural speech, the new president of the Postgraduate Representative Council (PRC) Comrade Isa Nuhu said, he came to the council to advocate 100% perfection with a renewed commitment to bring forth students oriented leadership.
Comrade Isa Nuhu, re-affirmed that the (PRC) 2017/2018 under his leadership will consolidate on the laid down achievement by the past leadership, as well to fix obvious mistakes to rebrand the council and make it far better than before.
