A group, the Jigawa State Concerned Citizens has condemned the publication that wrongly portrayed the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Alh Muhammad Babandede as a participant of a caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was expressed in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Sagir Sani, made available to New Nigerian Newspapers on Sunday night.
According to the statement, those behind the publication are mischief makers.
“The  attention of Jigawa State Concerned Citizens, a non Governmental organisation has been drawn to recent online media publications trying to use a private meeting on the invitation of Jigawa Elders Forum an umbrella body for Jigawa Elders at home and outside to discuss developmental issues bothering on the wellbeing and development of the good people of Jigawa State.
“Those mischief makers and detractors will never succeed as the  publications will not deter him from lending helping hand and keeping his relationship as an Elder in his state by virtue of benevolence position he found himself in National affairs to continue to contribute his quota without neglecting his root, which is the intention of the authors of such malicious publications. Babandede remain non partisan but committed to mandate of leadership vested on him by his appointment as the Comptroller General of Immigration Service,” it stated.
It continued that “In the said online publications by a mushroom online newspaper, The vibrant and respectful Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Alh Muhammad Babandede was pictured with the prominent sons of his state as having a political meetings in Kaduna.
“This glaringly portrayed  how myopic, mischievous, fraudulent and dangerous the authors of such fabrications are. With the present position of Muhd Babandede as the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration service it’s obvious that he cannot disconnect nor severe himself from his people by cutting off relationships at the home front which has no political undertone,” it stressed.
The group pointed out that as at now, Babandede has no  political ambition of any sort and will rather continue his life style as a farmer after his career in the Immigration Service.
