The National Executive Council of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club has impeached and suspended the acting National chairman of the club, Vincent Okumagba for gross indiscipline, abuse of office and anti club activities.
Rising from its NEC meeting in Lagos on Saturday which was attended by 15 out of the 18 chapters of the club in the country, the club accused the erstwhile acting chairman of engaging in activities capable of ridiculing the club before the Nigerian public.
Briefing the press on the outcome of their meeting which was presided over by the Deputy President General of the club , Alhaji Yusuf Aderenle,  acting Public Relations Officer of the Club, Hafeez Balogun and chairman of Abuja branch of the club, Professor Kenneth Onyemere noted that the impeachment became necessary in order to put a stop to the impunity and nepotism being perpetuated by Okumagba even as they announced the 2nd National Vice Chairman, Engr. Isaac Ebi-siawe  as the new acting national chairman of the club.
“We want to announce to the Nigerian public that the National Executive Council of our great club after deliberating on the activities of the club and several complaints against our acting National Chairman today voted for his impeachment from office and suspension from the club.
“NEC took this decision because the former acting National Chairman has ommitted a lot of anti club activities and impeachable offences; the highest point being his single handedly  submitting a list of 286 names as members going for the Olympics without the name of any member of the executive in the list .
“Apart from this, he also brought disgrace to the club during the last Joseph Yobo testimonial match in Port Harcourt’’, they stated.
The NEC meeting which was attended by 19 out of 22 national executive members, all members of the board of trustees, all elders of the club and chairmen and secretaries of Imo, Abuja, Bayelsa, Rivers, Kano, Bauchi, Kaduna, Kwara, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun, Ogun and Anambra chapters also announced the dismissal of Ali Dauda of Oyo chapter and Owolabi Ayo of Delta State from the club for anti- club activities and gross insubordination.
