The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has matriculated 466 Officer Cadets of 67 Regular Course after a compulsory one month military training.
‎129 cadets were matriculated into the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, 203 into Faculty of Engineering while 134 were matriculated into the Faculty of Sciences.
232 of the Cadets are admitted into the Nigerian Army, 132 into the Nigerian Navy and 102 into the Nigerian Air Force.
15 of the 466 officer Cadets are female while 451 are males.
Addressing the newly matriculated Cadets, the Commandant of the academy, Major General Mohammed Ibrahim urged them to consider themselves lucky to have successfully passed the one month intensive military training.
He therefore tasked them on hard work, commitment, academic excellence and above all determination to succeed.
On the part of the management, he assured them that the institution will ensure that their welfare will be given adequate priority while the enabling academic environment will be provided for them in the course of their study.
He however sounded a very strong note of warning that the institution will not under whatever guise tolerate any act of indiscipline.
“On our part, we will do our best, provide a conducive enabling environment for you, and we will also expect that you reciprocate accordingly. I will expect from you no fewer than 10 of you graduating with distinctions ( First class).
“So, be determined and committed to your studies, may God see you though successfully” he prayed.
Some of the matriculated Cadets expressed joy for successfully making it through the one month intensive military training and promised to put in their best through out the course of their study at the academy.
