National Youth Games: Kaduna will win nothing less than 5 gold medals, Commissioner boasts

The Commissioner of Sports Kaduna State, Daniel Danauta has said that they are targeting five gold medals during the National Youth Games slated for Ilorin Kwara State.
He stated this in an interview on Wednesday in Kaduna, stressing that preparations were on top gear and that the athletes had grouped at various camps ahead of the fiesta.
The Commissioner said that he was confident the athletes would win five gold medals from five different events due to their present formidable representation in the country.
“We are fully prepared to participate and make our impact in the competitions as we will be participating in almost all the events that are building for contest.
“I am confident that five out of the 12 events we are participating, we are already winning teams and are awaiting gold medals to go pick.
“This is because currently our hockey team are the current champions representing the country in continental and I see them doing same in Ilorin.
“We also have Karate; kick-Boxing who are all gold medalists in the current national tournament and sub regional that took place this year.
Danauta said that the participants would be engaged in different encounters in order to keep them in shape for the tournament.
According to him, such engagements had become necessary in order to improve on their performance for the competition.
