NASS to pass law to cater for the less privileged soon – Lawmaker
By; Bayo Akamo, Ibadan.
Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Urban Development and Regional Planning, Hon. Olatoye Temitope Sugar has hinted that National Assembly will soon pass a law to cater for all categories of the less privileged people in Nigeria .
Honourable Olatoye dropped this hint in Ibadan during a courtesy call on some private firms and media houses.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Lawmaker, representing Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency of Oyo State declared that this was in line with the change agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari led APC administration in the country.
According to him, the planned N5, 000 monthly stipend for unemployed Nigerian youths, cannot be enough to cater for the down-trodden people in the country, thereby necessitating the passage of such a bill.
Olatoye attributed the various security challenges facing the country to the continued neglect of the down-trodden Nigerians. He said the time has come for all Nigerians to join President Buhari in his efforts at reducing the gap between the rich and the poor in the country.
The lawmaker stressed that as the representatives of the people, members of the 8th National Assembly will, through legislation, ensure that life becomes more meaningful for the Nigerian masses, irrespective of their economic status or other challenges.
Olatoye during the visit to solicit support for the “N50million 2016 Valentine Day Project for People with Disability” said over 5,000 physically challenges people from the 33 Local Government Areas in Oyo state would be hosted during the Valentine party that will take place on February 14, 2016 at BCOS ground, Basorun, Ibadan.
