The Executive Chairman of Karu Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, Mr James Thomas has sacked all his special assistants and personal assistants over alleged involvement in anti-party activities in the just-concluded Gubernatorial  and state House of Assembly elections.

This is coming barely days after the conduct of gubernatorial and state assembly election was announced, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) yet again lost the area to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the gubernatorial ballot.

A statement issued by the Council Secretary, Utoh Vakpa Danladi, on Thursday in Karu, said the sacking was with immediate effect.

He however thanked the affected appointees for the service rendered to the council and wished them the best in their future endeavours.

The council Chairman had few months to the general elections appointed them among others to “ensure effective service delivery to resident of the area.”

Meanwhile, he has been accused of diverting “feeding allowances” from the state government meant for ad-hoc election staff in the area.
