NAHCON Lauds Bauchi Over Prioritization Of Pilgrims Welfare

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has applauded the Bauchi State Government for its desire to prioritize the welfare of pilgrims during Hajj operation.

A Director with NAHCON’s Inspectorate and Compliance Unit, Usman Aliyu Shamaki made the commendation friday while leading the commission’s inspection team to Bauchi, saying the state has created an enabling environment for Haijj and Umra activities to thrive.

According to him, the visit is a deliberate effort by the commission to validate the requirements for the issuance of Hajj and Umra license to all boards and agencies by the commission.

He expressed satisfaction with the effort of the Bauchi state towards ensuring the welfare of its pilgrims, saying the commission was highly impressed with the office accommodation and Hajj Transit Camp, noting that the Bauchi Camp is of international standard.

Executive Secretary of Bauchi State Pilgrims Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris has earlier said that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has changed the narratives of hajj management in the state.

Alhaji Usman Shamaki assured that intending Bauchi continue to consistently remain focused to make the state a reference point in providing quality services to pilgrims.

He said that the construction of ultra-modern Bauchi permanent Hajj camp is one of the laudable effort of the governor to support the activities of the board, saying the state is determined to attain its vision and mission on pilgrims’ welfare.

Idris explained that the edifice has all the necessary facilities for the comfort of pilgrims during Hajj operation that included administrative block, mosque and ablution area, multipurpose hall and screening hall, as well as male and female hostels.

He enumerated other facilities at the transit camp that includes clinic, ambulance, lockup shops and kitchen aimed at providing optimum comfort and safety of pilgrims.

On preparedness for the forthcoming 2022 Hajj, the secretary disclosed that the board has sponsored and embarked on media programmes aimed at educating and enlightening the public, particularly intending pilgrims on Hajj exercise.

The board secretary also revealed that the board has completed arrangements to conduct a three 3 days Train-The Trainers workshop to support the intending pilgrims.

The Director of Operations of the board, Sabiu Barau Ningi had earlier in a welcome address expressed delight with the visit and assured the readiness of the board to ensure the success of Hajj operations.
