My administration will partner with the media – Gov Ayade

Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has said his administration will forge a strong partnership with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to achieve meaningful development in the State.
He stated this when he received an “Award of Excellence and Grand Patron of NUJ, Cross River State ’’ by the state council of NUJ during its Gala/Award Night ceremony in Calabar.
Ayade described the award as a morale booster, adding that it would spur him to work harder for the realisation of his Signature Projects and other laudable programmes.
He said “I am excited and humbled for this award, especially as it is my first award by any organization since my assumption of office. I assure you that I will work with the media for the full realisation of our collective dream of making Cross River the most Industrialised and economically viable state in Nigeria, he said”.
The highly elated governor said that the media was very critical in his vision to making Cross River state, not only better, but the best in the World.
He thanked council for the award and promised not to disappoint them and the entire people of the state.
The NUJ also conferred various categories of awards on some deserving individuals, corporate organizations and posthumous awards on some departed colleagues.
One of the awardees, His Holliness Olumba Olumba Obu was honored by the NUJ as an outstanding Patron following his immense contributions to the state NUJ.
Other awardees are: the Chief Medical Director of University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Dr Thomas Agan, Chairman of Cross River State Water Board Ltd, Ntufam Ekpo Okon and General Manager of Cross River Basin Development Authority Mrs Etta Eyo-Eta.
The former member of House of Representatives Hon. Obeten Okom was given an excellence award while Mr Frank Effa also received excellence award.
Two corporate organizations, Asi Ukpo Diagnostic Center Calabar and Bakor Specialist Hospital were honored for their contributions to the improvement of the health sector.
Many of their awardees in their various responses thanked the NUJ for recognising their modest contributions to the growth of the society.
The Chairman of NUJ Cross River state council, Mr Ndoma Akpet said that the awards were in recognition of the contributions of the awardees to the service of humanity.
