“Zakat and Sadakat is a foremost foundation to alleviate poverty in the society and bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in the society and re-awaken the spirit of Zakat payment, majority of those who are supposed to pay Zakat are not paying it. We are doing this to re-awaken the spirit of Zakat payment and distribute accordingly,” he said.

“Items to be used for Zakatul-Ul-Fitr according to the societal need include Rice, Beans, Garri, Yam Flour, Millet and so on. Zakat-Ul-Fitr can be paid on the last ten days of Ramadan up to the morning of Eid- day before going to the praying ground”.
