As the newly elected council officials in Kaduna State set for inauguration, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Lawal Adamu, popularly called Mr. LA has rolled out areas of priority for councillors elected on the platform of his party, urging cohesion amongst all members as 2023 draws nearer.
Mr. LA made the call at an event he organized in honour of newly elected council officials of Kaduna South Local Government Area under the platform of the opposition PDP.
It would be recalled that a similar event was put together penultimate week by Mr. LA for Kaduna North elected officials under the PDP.
He charged the councillors to be proactive in addressing issues that would have direct impact on the people at the grassroots who elected them, urging them to put interest of the  electorate above personal advantages.
Mr LA who was  PDP’s flagbearer in 2019 Kaduna Central Senatorial election, expressed confidence and optimism in the ability of his party to win 2023 general election at the state and federal level, saying the electorate are already fed up and have lost hope in APC, the party he accused of plunging millions of Nigerians into abject poverty.
He lamented lack of focus, compassion and emphathy by the ruling party  in the state, revealing that residents of Kaduna had never  experienced the hardship encountered, particularly by petty traders and civil servants who lost shops and jobs under the present leadership.
He described victory of his party at the just concluded local govt polls as a message to the ruling party to start preparing their handover notes, insisting that defeat was  inevitable for APC in 2023.
Speaking further to the elected councillors under his party, the PDP, he challenged them to be good ambassadors and exhibit exemplary leadership qualities embedded in selflessness and commitment to welfare of the people.
“Education of pupils under your jurisdiction should be your priority because an educated society is most productive, prosperous, active and easy to govern.
“You must see your emergence as necessity borne out of widespread frustration across virtually every field of human endeavours, you must not therefore, fail the people and lose their confidence.
“You must chart a new cause by doing things differently for the benefit of people so your good legacies would outlive your tenures and speak for you in many years to come,” he advised.
