A mother of 3 last Friday, burnt her husband’s face, chest and broke his head with wood in Ugbokodo Okpe Community in Okpe LGA of Delta State over a girl friend issue.

The house wife poured hot water on her husband at their home in Ugbokodo community between 10-11pm at night, according to her husband, Chief Philip Uweno who also disclosed that they not only live together, but also have three children whose ages are 21, 10 and 18 months respectively.

The Chief revealed that the wife has been threatening to deal with him all along in the marriage, over side-chic matter, just as the wife has been arrested by his mother and is currently cooling off at the Orerokpe Police Command in the state.

Chief Uweno said after she poured the hot water on him, he was battling for his life when she hit his head thrice with a wood.

He said he had to struggle to get outside the house and still managed to drive himself to the hospital bleeding profusely for treatment.

Speaking exclusively on his hospital bed on Saturday in the presence of his mother, concerned friends and one of his younger sisters, Chief Uweno narrated his ordeal to newsmen saying, “it’s God Almighty that saved me. I have always told her she can only try her best to harm me, but will never be able to kill me after which she will regret her action”, noting that she has finally done her worst.

He said the wife is not the kind of person to keep and by this singular action, the marriage is over.
