Modern Disaster Management: NEMA Kaduna trains staff

The North West Zonal Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kaduna at the weekend conducted a refresher training course to its staff members in order to enhance and improve their performances to meet the current global challenges in disaster management.
Opening the three-day training at the zonal office conference hall, the Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Ilallah charged his subordinates to take the sessions very serious and use the knowledge gathered from the training for purposeful discharge of service delivery.
The agency’s officials were taken on processes of combating emergency cases, given prominence to the anticipated raining season having studied the recent Nigeria Metrological Agency (NIMET) periodic forecast for 2016.
The seminar is expected to cover topics on the menaces of flooding, fire outbreaks, epidemics especially the recent cases of Lassa Fever and other disasters and suggest how to educate the public on preventive measures.
Ilallah reiterated the agency’s proactive & efficient measures to combat disaster, related cases to the barest minimum, collaborating effectively with various stakeholders in disaster management.
