Minister Flags Off ‘Medical Mission’ In Makarfi, As FG Targets Free Treatment Of 3m Nigerians

The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac  Adewole on Thursday said the Federal Government has targeted three million Nigerians on free medical mission of surgery for peoples welfare.

The Minister expressed this at the flag off ceremony on Medical Mission for the good people of Makarfi and Kudan Federal constituency of Kaduna State which was held in Makarfi Local Government Area.

According to him, the Federal Government’s efforts is to impact good health on  the lives of its people and improve their wellbeing.

He commended the state government for the efforts and support to Makarfi and Kudan local government areas of Kaduna State.

In a remark, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai thanked the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole for honouring Kaduna on the flag off ceremony.

He pledged that Kaduna State Government will involve more medical practitioners for the people of its state to enjoy free medical surgery.

He called on the people of Makarfi to support Honorable Mohammed Usman for creating a good legacy by making use of his financial resources to put a smile on the  people of Makarfi and Kaduna State in general.

He commended honourable Mohammed Usman for his efforts by contributing his quota towards developing the state.

Earlier, the  Deputy Chairman, Committee on Health Care Services Federal House of Representatives,  Honorable  Mohammad Usman, said a healthy nation is a wealthy nation.

According to him, the state government has decided to prioritize good health in the state and the country.

He explained that, they have witnessed the medical mission and have  shortlisted about 2,000 women that will be involved in the free medical surgery like Hynea and Hydrocale,  the pregnant women will be given tablets to assist them during the  labour.

In line with the visions of political unit in Kaduna State, he has gotten the support of the Minister Isaac Adewole for coming to witness the Flag off  ceremony of free medical surgery in the state.

He said the state government’s vision in rehabilitation  projects is with the support of ABU Teaching Hospital in supervising the items of the surgery.

He noted that over 1,000 treated mosquito nets and multivitamins will be distributed  to women in the constituency.

“The distribution of vitamins and albendazole will be given to children as well as medical screening and eye screening/surgery,” he said.

“About 16 of this project have been renovated today. I am very happy that this is happening with the support of Honorable Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole”, he added.

He urged the Federal and state governments to employ and improve the health facilities in the state and make the hospitals in Nigeria well equipped for functioning.

He commended the state government for their support towards the programme financially and elevating  the health sector in the state.

The people of Markarfi Local Government came out  enmass to show their support  and appreciation to Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai and his wife, Hajiya Ummie with chanting of songs “sai Malam”.

The beneficiaries were women, men and their children as there were tested on the medical surgery on various ailments.
