Micro Credit Scheme: FG earmarks N1.6B for Women

The sum of 1.6 Billion Naira has been earmarked by federal government for micro finance scheme for women across the country.
The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Jummai Alhassan disclosed this in Jalingo at a press conference.
She said the funds were provided by President Mohammadu Buhari to support the enhancement of growth and development of Nigerian women.
Senator Alhassan explained that sensitization on the modalities on how to access the funds was on adding that it was expected that women would use the funds to establish viable ventures.
The Minister explained that women have vital role to play in the current effort of President Buhari’s administration to improve on the nation’s economy hence the release of the funds.
She also disclosed that the funds provided were in addition to 150 billion Naira to be provided by Bank of Industry (BoI) for women entrepreneurs.
