Mgt Committee Chairman died barely two days in office

The Plateau State Governor,  Simon Bako  Lalong said he received the news of the sudden demise of the newly sworn-in Management Committee Chairman of Jos East Local Government Council Dr. Hosea Azi “with great shock”, the Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Nanle said in a statement.
The Local Government Chairman met his death in an unfortunate fatal motor accident at Garaku on his way to Abuja involving his vehicle which ran into a stationary truck resulting in the death of the Chairman and two others.
Our correspondent reported that he was sworn in on Thursday, 10th December, 2015 replacing Hon. Sanda Agwom Daura who was removed from office by the Executive Governor in response to the yearning of the People of Jos East.
The Executive Governor who described the Late Dr. Hosea Azi as an astute politician, an academic of repute said ‘the Late Chairman was coming into Government to provide the needed leadership in the  Local Government Council that will address the developmental challenges of the people Jos East.
Being a onetime legislature in the 5th Assembly of the Plateau State House of Assembly, he had served the Jos East Local Government Council.
The initial speculation surrounding his death was that he was abducted by kidnappers who had an accident while moving him to an unknown destination.
Family sources have disproved such rumour and government has further confirmed that the death occurred while he was on his way for a legitimate function in Abuja.
The governor condoles with the people of Jos East, the Izere Council and the family of the deceased over this irreparable loss coming barely two days in office.
