The member representing Dawakin Tofa, Rimin Gado and Tofa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Engineer Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe has empowered 1,500 women selected from the three local government areas with the wife of the Kano State Governor, Hajiya Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in attendance.
The event which was held in a colourful ceremony at the Kano Institute of Entepreneurship Dawakin Tofa, comprised of selected women from Dawakin Tofa, Rimin Gado and Tofa local government areas through the All Progressives Congress, (APC) leadership from each ward that constitutes the constituency for even distribution of the empowerment funds.
Earlier in his pre-ceremony interview with journalists at the venue, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe said that he decided to assist the women across his constituency because feminine gender should not be left behind in terms of empowerment which is the policy of the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje since inception into office in the year 2015.
He assured that ” Our empowerment programme will be a continuous project because feminine gender is an important asset in a democratic set-up like nowadays, and I thank her Excellency, the wife of the executive Governor of Kano State, for being with us till the end of the occasion and we are happy with her presence because she cares much for Kano women at both rural and urban settlements”. He said.
Engineer Jobe then commended the leaders of their party, APC at wards, and local government areas chapters in his constituency for working day and night to ensure that the party becomes victorious in the forthcoming general elections, in order to continue reaping the good democratic dividends in Nigeria and the Kano State under president Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for another four-year term.
In her remarks at the cash presentation, the wife of the Kano Governor, Hajiya Hafsat Ganduje commended the member for giving a helping hand to the feminine gender in his constituency, and tasked those who benefited from the empowerment to use the money in boosting their economy through petty trades at home, and assured that Kano State Government will continue to bring out more programmes that are beneficial to women at rural and urban areas.
Most of the beneficiaries that spoke in an interview with New Nigerian, described Engineer Tijjani Jobe as a very good ambassador who really knows how to assist his electorate since he was sent to represent the people of Dawakin Tofa, Rimin Gado and Tofa local government areas, while they all assured that their votes are for APC at both elections.
