Governor Aminu Bello Masari has sworn-in a new Head of the Katsina State Civil Service.
The new head of the Civil Service is Idris Usman Tune, who takes over from his predecessor, Garba Sanda Mani after reaching retirement age recently.
Until the present appointment, the new Head of the Civil Service of the state was the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance.
Speaking afte the Oath of Office and that of allegiance Governor Aminu Bello Masari said staff development has been given top priority since coming into office in 2015.
The Governor maintained that civil service being an engine room of the service needed training and retraining.
Governor Masari said his administration believes that government is a continuous process, hence the reason why on assumption into office, officials and permanent secretaries appointed by the previous governments were not removed or sacked.
According to the Governor, the tenure policy introduced by the previous administration was outlawed to give room to civil servants to contribute to the development of the state.
He stressed the need for cooperation between middle and senior cadres to remove the issue of consultancy to enhance civil service.
Governor Aminu Masari charged the new Head of Service to tap from experiences of his predecessors to achieve the desired successes.
He equally enjoined the new Head of Service to treat people with Justice and fairness and live by the oath of office.
The Governor re-iterated the need for civil servants to remain dedicated to service as the sky is their limit.
While congratulating the new Head of Service over his appointment, Governor Masari wished the immediate past Head of Service God’s guidance in life after retirement.
The new Head of Service, Idris Usman Tune attended the famous Sardauna Memorial College, Kaduna, College of Advanced Studies, Zaria and Bayero University Kano and has masters degree in Public Policy and Administration and as well served in different capacities until his present appointment.
