Masari Blames Surge In Banditry On Decades Of Neglect Of Education

Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has blamed inadequate attention to basic and foundation education for decades as among factors responsible to youth’s restiveness in the country.

The Governor made the observation when he received the participants of senior course forty five of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji on study tour in the State.

Alhaji Aminu Masari observed that majority of youths of today do not have the opportunity to the foundation education that can afford them learn skills for self employment.

He pointed out that  that 99 per cent of those involved into banditry are below the age of thirty five, who lack education that can prepare them to become responsible citizens.

Governor Masari who also identified climate change as another factor which affected farming activities that engage more youths, said discovery of petroleum in the country worsen the situation with less attention to Agriculture by the past leaders.

Alhaji Aminu Masari therefore suggested for special attention to the foundation education and Agriculture as a step to curtail idleness among our teeming youths.

Governor Aminu Bello Masari   who congratulated the course participant’s for their commitment in service delivery, directed them to meet with his special adviser on security, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Katsina to have more details on the security situation in the State.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation who is  also the director coordination of the college Brigadier General Mohammed Nuraddeen said the delegation was one of the eight teams currently on study tour of some selected states of the federation.

According to him, the tour was part of this year’s Armed Forces Command and Staff College Nigeria environmental study tour for senior course.

He said the training offered by the college was not limited to military and para-military personnel from Nigeria alone, but from other sister African countries in line with the foreign policy of Nigeria.
