Hon Solomon Maren and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) called additional 4 witnesses bringing the total to 5 and closed their defence in the on- going hearing at the state and National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal at High Court 7 West of Mines, Jos.
Maren’s election is being challenged at the tribunal by Engr. Danjuma Haruna of the All Progressive Congress (APC). The petitioners opened and closed their case last week.
When the case file was called on Friday, counsel to Maren and PDP, (1st and 2nd respondents), ST Panwal tendered 24 documents which included: Form Ec8b2 for Mushere Registration Area(R. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through its counsel Nathan Omida expressed its desire not to call any witness and applied to also close its case which was granted. Consequently, the petition was adjourned until August 9, 2019, for adoption of written Addresses.
