Tragedy occurred on Sunday at Ovbiogie community in Benin City, capital of Edo State when a 35-year-old man, simply identified as Uwaila, shot and killed his wife and two sons over alleged infidelity.
The suspect was said to have shot through the door of the room into which his wife and children had ran and locked themselves to escape the onslaught.

Uwaila, who was already in police custody as at the time of filing this report had claimed that his wife accused him of having many girlfriends and threatened to retaliate by also going out to get male lovers.
The suspect allegedly told the police that following the disagreement, he drove out of the house in anger and came back to see that his wife had locked herself and his sons inside one of the rooms, revealing that he shot through the door and bullets hit them on the bed.
A neighbour of the suspect who would not want his name in print, disclosed that Mr. Uwaila had been making arrangements to organize a birthday party for one of children aged between two years and four years, before the shooting occurred.
