Man 25 stabs friend to death with broken bottle in Ogun over undisclosed argument

A 25 year old man, Samson Tella has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his friend to death with broken bottle on the neck.
Tella who committed the offence at Iyes area in Ota was arrested last Tuesday by the Police operatives attached to the Onipanu Divisional Headquarters of the command .
New Nigerian gathered that the suspect had engaged his friend identified as Abiodun Abdul-Kareem in a hot argument over an undisclosed matter, which later led to the stabbing of the victim on the neck.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident to journalists Wednesday in Abeokuta, the state capital, stressing that the subject of the argument which led to the death of Abdul-Kareem still remain unknown to the Police.
Adejobi however, added that family source told the Police that both the suspect and the victim were members of two rival cult group and that the subject of their argument may not be unconnected with secret cult matters.
The PPRO however maintained that the suspect was arrested after a friend to the deceased had reported the case to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Onipanu division, who immediately swung into action and consequently arrested Tella.
Adejobi however, stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Abdul-Majid Ali has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Eleweeran, Abeokuta to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter.
While encouraging the youths in the state to always maintain decorum during arguments, CP Ali also appealed to the general public to always avoid unnecessary and unreasonable argument that could lead to a similar case in the state.
