Borno State Governor, Babagana Unara Zulum personally visited camps where victims of Monday’s devastating flood in Maiduguri were camped.

In all the places he visited on Tuesday, Zulum sympathized with the victims and assured them of proper care until the water recedes and people return to their houses.

“I am disturbed by the calamity that befell us on Monday, resulting from the increased volume. We are doing everything possible to provide relief to our people.”

“We will provide all the necessary relief support to you, and we will ensure you return to your houses as soon as the situation improves for the best,” Zulum said.

It will be recalled that in the last few days, some states in the northeast zone have experienced terrible flood disasters this year which have been attributed to the high volume of rainfall.

In a similar vein, areas in Chad and Cameroon Republics that are prone to flooding and share borders with communities in Borno State also experience flooding which damage was believed to be twice or thrice worst than similar calamity that bedeviled the state capital of Borno State, Maiduguri city on December 10, 1994, during late Gen. Sani Abacha where lives were lost, public and private property worth billions of Naira were destroyed by the flood disaster.
