Lalong unfolds strategic plan, holds retreat Cabinet members

Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has disclosed that his administration  developed a strategic initiative and laudable programs with time frame for the actualization of his plans within his tenure.
The governor stated this at the opening of a retreat for members of the state Executive Council held at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPS) in Kuru near Jos.
Seasoned administrators, technocrats  and clerics are expected to deliver lectures during the four day event on the policy thrust of the “rescue administration” in the state.
The Retreat was organized in partnership with German International Cooperation  and facilitated by Jos Business School.
He said the ideas generated at the retreat will be used to serve as an impetus to the governance of the “trouble state”.
“We have already put in place strategic initiative and programs with short and medium time for the actualization of our policy thrust which will be unveiled in this retreat.
“I will be expecting your updated implementation strategy that will accelerate government effort in addressing governmental and many Social Challenges demanding urgent attention of government  in the state”.
Lalong called on the political appointees in his government to start the process of critical thinking on the immediate issues that need attention in their Ministries.
According to him, “I must emphases that discipline, financial management, dedication to duty, sound leadership and strategic implementation of programs and actions are necessary ingredients for success”.
Earlier, in a welcome address, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Rufus Bature said there is a need to boost the state internally generated revenue in the face of the dwindling government resources nationwide.
Presenting the first paper at the retreat, the former River State governor and present Minister for Transport, Rotimi Amaechi noted that the cordial working relationship between the executive and legislators in the state is strategic for any meaningful development in a democratic system of government.
