The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disagreed with the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed for describing weapons being used to fight Boko Haram as inferior saying the headline is inciting.

A statement signed by the Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, said “The attention of the Directorate of Defence Information was drawn to the above headline attributed its Director, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar.
“This headline is not only inciting but completely out of context because the Director never made such statement throughout the media interaction with the AIT that invited him to shed light and sensitise Nigerians on the new antics of suicide bombers in the North East,” it stated.
It went on to inform that the Nigerian Armed Forces will remain professional and continue to guard the constitution and subordinate itself to democratic governance of this country.
“We therefore solicit the cooperation and support of all Nigerians in the fight against terrorism and other allied criminal activities. We shall remain focus in protecting lives and property of law abiding citizens,” it concluded.
