The Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa
has set up a 16-man committee to screen the 25 commissioners designate submitted by the State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Obasa, who announced the 16 members screen committee at plenary on 29th July, 2019, stated that the committee would screen the nominees before appearing before the whole house .
He said the ad hoc committe would be Chaired by Hon.Rotimi Abiru representing Shomolu Constituency 2.
Other members of the committee according to the Speaker include Hons. Jimi Mohammed (Ikeja I), Yinka Ogundimu (Agege ),Abiodun Tobun (Epe I), Setonji David (Badagry 2), Victor Akande (Ojo I) and Mosunmola Sangodara (Surulere 2).
They include Mojisola Alli-Macaulay (Amuwo-Odofin I), Rasheed Makinde (Ifako-Ijaiye 2), Lanre Afinni (Lagos Island 2), Noheem Adams (Eti-Osa 2), Adedamola Kasunmu (Ikeja 2), Suraju Tijani (Ojo II), Olusola Sokunle (Oshodi/Isolo I), Olumuyiwa Jimoh (Apapa II), Abdulsobur Olawale (Mushin II) and Hon. Hakeem Shokunle (Oshodi 1).
The Speaker directed the ad hoc committee to report back to the House in a week.
However, there was unconfirmed report that the Governor would be forwarding the second batch of 10 names of nominees in the next one week.
