A middle aged lady has reportedly committed suicide by jumping into Lagos Lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge.
Our correspondent gathered that the lady alighted from a taxi cab and jumped into the lagoon before she could be stopped.
Though, the root cause of her action could not be ascertained as at the time of filing the report, it was however, learnt that she committed the act shortly after terminating a conversation with her fiance on phone.
While confirming the incident in a statement, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the driver of the cab confirmed that the lady had a heated argument with the boyfriend before she asked him to stop the vehicle.
He disclosed that search has commenced to rescue the lady from the lagoon.
