Oyo State Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Wasiu Emiola on Thursday disclosed that the former governor of the state and Chieftain of the party High Chief Rashidi Ladoja and his group will not defect from the PDP over the harmonization of the party’s executive.
Alhaji Emiola stated this in Ibadan while addressing PDP members loyal to Senator Ladoja after a marathon meeting held at Bodija residence of High Chief Ladoja .
The PDP scribe stressed that the meeting resolved that High Chief “Ladoja remains our party leader in the state with an affirmation of vote of confidence on the State executive led by Alhaji Kunmi Mustafa.”
According to Alhaji Emiola, the PDP Deputy National Chairman, Yemi Akinwonmi will visit Ladoja today (Friday) as part of measures to douse the tension generated by the news of the harmonization of the party executive to cater for the interest of an aggrieved group led by a Governorship aspirant, Mr. Seyi Makinde.
He then urged PDP members across the state particularly those in the camp of High Chief Ladoja to continue to support the party for the forthcoming 2019 electoral victory.
The meeting was presided over by High Chief Ladoja and attended by Senator Femi Lanlehin; Chief Bisi Ilaka, Hon. Busari Olayemi; Mrs. Yetunde Ajibola; Chief Ademola Mofolasere; Chief Bashiru Lawal; Nureni Adeniran among others.
New Nigerian reliably gathered that the harmonization of the executive was done on the basis of 14 to the High Chief Ladoja and 12 offices to the Engineer Seyi Makinde led faction of the party.
Sources close to the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja confirmed to the New Nigerian that the harmonization has come to stay.
