Mr. Mathew Donatus Kozali, the Labour Party candidate for Kaura House of Representatives, has emerged the winner of last Saturday’s election in Kaduna State.
He defeated the incumbent, the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Gideon Lucas Gwani, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr Mathew Donatus Kozali polled 10,508 votes to defeat Gideon Lucas Gwani who polled 10,297 votes.
Professor Elija D. Ella, the Returning Officer, who made the announcement at Kaura Local Government Secretariat in Southern part of Kaduna State, declared Mr. Mathew Donatus Kuzai as the winner.
He explained that Professor Benjamin Kumai Gugong of APC came third with 9,919 votes.
Mr Gideon Lucas Gwani, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was seeking to occupy the seat for the fifth time.
