Kidnapped Methodist Church Reverend regains freedom after 5 days

The Methodist Church Reverend kidnapped last Thursday on his way from farm at Kufi area, along Olounda-Aba road, Ibadan Rev Biodun Ogunbekun on Tuesday regained his freedom.
Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Cathedral, Ibadan, Rt. Rev. Amos Ajiboye disclosed this on Wednesday while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan
“Our priest was released to us on Tuesday. We are grateful to God and all those that made it possible. We shall be making further statement in due time. He is resting after what he had gone through in the hands of his abductors,” he said.
According to Rt. Rev. Ajiboye, Rev Ogunbekun was released by the kidnappers after spending five days in their den but was silent on whether the church or the priest family paid ransom before securing the Reverend’s release.
It will be recalled that Reverend Ogunbeku was kidnapped last Thursday by five gunmen at about 7pm at his Olorunda, Akinyele, Ibadan, farm.
According to the Bishop of Agodi Diocese of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Bishop Amos Ajiboye Rev. Ogunbeku was abducted by the five gunmen with masked faces and dragged him into the bush.
