Keshi’s demise, great loss to Nigeria – Oyo SWAN

The Oyo State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), wednesday said the sudden death of the former Super Eagles’ Coach, Stephen Keshi was a great loss to Nigeria.
Oyo SWAN in a condolence message signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Niyi Alebiosu declared that with the death of Stephen Keshi, the country has lost a big name in football.
The association pointed out that the late former Super Eagles’ Captain and Coach while alive had a good relationship with Oyo SWAN as he was adjudged the “Coach of the Year” during the 2012 Oyo SWAN Week Celebration.
While praying that God will grant the Keshi family fortitude to bear the loss, Oyo SWAN also expressed sympathy with the family.
“We members of the Oyo SWAN and on behalf of the football family in the state express our heartfelt sympathy to the Ogbuenyi Fredrick Keshi family of Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, while commiserating with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the sad occurrence.
“With a heavy heart, we pray for the eternal repose of this distinguished gaffer who was one of the two players in the continent of Africa that won the African Nation’s Cup as a player and coach.
