Governor Abubakar Atiku Bugudu Tuesday presented an estimate of one hundred and forty billion naira (N140B) for this fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
According to him, the sum of ninety nine billion naira has been earmarked for capital and forty four billion for recurrent estimates.
He said” In this years budget, government would give emphasis on entrepreneurship and skills where government will engage unemployed persons in the state various acquisitions programmes so that by the end of this fiscal year people in the state would became total independent”
The governor pledged to complete the vocational training centre Ambursa in Birnin Kebbi local government abandoned by the immediate past administration.
”We want before the end of this year, People of Kebbi state to become self reliant, a state that would lead in terms of wealth he added.
He noted that government will follow the budget scheduled and execute projects as contained in the budget
Bagudu however urged politicians in the state to support the present administration in the state and the nation as whole noting that the present leaders would not forgets their campaign promises.
He pointed out that Education, Agriculture, Health and Infrastructure would be given secondary priority in this year’s budget
Speaker of the state Assembly, Abdulmumini Kamba promised the governor of speedy passage of the estimate.
