KDSG to renovate NYSC permanent camp, rewards outstanding Corps Members

Any 2016 Batch A Stream II Corps Members who distinguish themselves at the end of their service year would be recognized and rewarded by the Kaduna State Government, Governor Nasir el-Rufai has assured.
He gave the assurance while declaring close the three-week orientation camp held at the Abuja-Kaduna highway Black Gold Permanent Orientation Camp Ground, Kaduna on Wednesday.
The governor also assured the Corps Members of  adequate security in all parts of the state during their one-year of compulsory service to the nation.
He said that the state government will continue to give the scheme its maximum support.
“Let me also reiterate that the Kaduna State Government will continue to give the scheme maximum support towards the attainment of its objectives. In this regard, I want to assure you that government will do its best to providing a conducive environment for you to carry out your assignment,” he stressed.
Governor el-Rufai emphasized that his administration is committed to upgrading facilities at the Black Gold Orientation Camp.
“In this regard, we have directed the Honourable Commissioner of Youth, Sports and Culture to ensure that contractors commence work on the comprehensive renovation of the facilities immediately after you have vacated the camp,” he said.
In his remarks, the Kaduna State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Prince Mohammed Momoh said that the orientation camp was very successful.
He praised the Corps Members for high level of discipline they exhibited all through the camping.
“Dear patriotic Corps Members, as soon as you get to your places of primary assignment you are enjoined to settle down quickly and make yourselves relevant in the community,” he advised.
He warned them that failure to adhere to the NYSC rules will attract punishment, further warning them against traveling outside the state without permission.
He appreciated the Kaduna State Government for support to the scheme, security agencies for their role and the corporate organizations where the Corps Members would be posted to.
A total of 2,267 Corps Members attended the camp which was held from June 13 to June 29.
