KDSG to partner with Uganda on Education, Agric

Kaduna State Government is to have a working partnership with Uganda on areas of education, Agriculture, commerce, trade and tourism.
This was disclosed by the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Aminu Abdullahi Shagali during a courtesy call on him by the Ugandan High Commission in his office.
The Speaker said Kaduna State, which is at the forefront of development and provision of Health Care services to the people, is ready to partner with Uganda to achieve these set goals and objectives as well fulfilling their promises made to the Electorates.
He assured Uganda that the Assembly will continue to legislate to facilitate interactions in various areas to encourage cooperation between the two countries.
On his part, the Ugandan High Commission to Nigeria, Ambassador Ocheger Nelson said Kaduna State is strategically located in Nigerian economy as an agrarian society and stands to benefit from various areas of Uganda’s economy such as the sugar, rice, milk and oil production.
The High Commissioner assured the state that for the past twenty five years Uganda has achieved remarkable political stability and economic growth and need to share with other African countries to benefit from.
He noted with great concern that African problems can best be solved by Africans and not by any European elsewhere and called for greater cooperation among African countries to benefit from their various products to encourage trade, tourism and investment.
Addressing the Press after the visit, the Speaker assured that the state will gain a lot from the bilateral cooperation between the two countries especially agriculture as it will help our farmers to grow from subsistence farming to commercial or mechanized farming.
“Instead of farming for food alone our farmers can farm for commercial purpose too”, the Speaker added.
