KDSG to establish over 250 PHC Centres in 2016
By; Samson Yaki, Kaduna.
The Kaduna State Government is set to revamp its health sector with the plan to establish about 255 Primary HealthCare Centres in its 2016 zero budget.
This was disclosed by the Honourable Commissioner of Health Professor Jonathan Andrew Nok in a Press briefing after the Ministry’s budget defense at the State House of Assembly in Kaduna.
Honourable Nok said when this is achieved, the centres would have the facilities that would take care of about 70 per cent of the health cases in the Secondary Health facilities.
His words, “we intend to have modern scanning machines to scan our pregnant women and those with internal health cases and we intend to have well trained personnel to handle this equipment and by this the public will have a good HealthCare delivery system.
“We will also upgrade our existing hospitals in the state to fill the gap created by the movement of Teaching Hospital from Kaduna to Shika and with this we intend to train about 100 Doctors to enhance our health delivery system”, he added.
