Kaduna State Government Monday announced the sack of five of its civil servant for abusive of service rules and removed four Village Heads for land trespass.
The Director General Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), Ibrahim Hussaini disclosed this while addressing journalists after the State weekly Executive Council meeting
According to him, two of the civil servants were from the Survey department of  former Ministry of Lands and Survey now KADGIS, while three are from Kaduna State Urban Protection Development Agency  KASUPDA.
He said, a committee of six Permanent Secretaries were set up in 2012 under Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa which investigate them and recommended they be retired from the state civil service due to their connivance with the Village Heads and land speculators, they abused a piece of land in the Millennium City acquired and planned for expansion by the government.
Asked why dismissal by El-rufai and not retirement as recommended under late Yakowa, Husseini said they  were found guilty of serious misconduct and by the civil service rule, the punishment for serious misconduct is dismissal and not retirement contrary to the previous committee’s recommendation.
“As a result of that the Government appointed a committee of six permanent secretaries in 2012 and mandated the committee to investigate the roles played by any government staff and traditional leaders in the distortion of the approved plan.
“The committee was also charged with recommendations on the appropriate sanction on any body found guilty and the committee went ahead to investigate some of the staff of the ministry found guilty of serious misconduct in the civil service and accordingly, the committee recommended that the staff should be retired from civil service in 2012, but nothing was actually done to that report.
“According to that, a memo have been presented to the exco and decision was taken according to the provision of the civil service rule.
“This is to serve as a lesson to all civil servant that in one way or the other sabotaging the effort of Gov to ensure that kaduna is made great again” he said.
It would be recalled that in 2006, 12,000 hectares of land in the Eastern wing of Kaduna metropolis was designated no go area due planned expansion of the city.
That wing known as Millennium City was divided into ten districts with Hayin Danbushiya fallen into the first District with 970 hectares of land.
