KDSG commences training of 5000 applicants

As part of its efforts to boost entrepreneurial activities in the state, Kaduna State Government has kick started its Industrial Entrepreneurial Revolution with the commencement of the initial training of 5000 applicants.
The Kaduna Startup Entrepreneurship Programme, (KAD- STEP) is to be prosecuted in collaboration with
Bank of Industry, (BOI) and Kaduna Business School which are providing the start up Loan and faculty respectively for the young entrepreneurs.
The successful candidates are drawn from the 23 local government areas of the state and would be trained on how to actualize their business proposals.
Speaking on-behalf of the state Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mohammed Abdullahi Sani said the Governor promised during the “campaigns to make Kaduna great again and the program today is part of the efforts to make Kaduna great again.”
He said “the program has put responsibility on your head as successful applicants who are expected to use the process to employ others as a means of improving the economy of the state”.
According to him, “be aware that there are many people that want this opportunity, so it is key to make a success of the programme. It is an opportunity to change your life.
”The bank of industry has always been there but people have not been really equipped to access it and that is what the program is all about. The success will be determined by the number of people you are able to employ.
”Our hope is to see you people successful, because this programme is very close to the heart of the state Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai and will want to see you succeed, so that he can bring in others.”
On his part, the Regional Head, North West, of the Bank of Industry (BOI) Ibrahim Bissallah explained that the Key to success in every business is anchored on access to finance and knowledge, saying the applicants should count themselves lucky.
Bissallah reiterated that the BOI has seen that knowledge for entrepreneurs is key to successful business, adding “we are expecting you to be attentive in the capacity training. BOI will fulfill its part of the bargain, it is now left for you to see yourself as the next big time business mogul in Kaduna”.
