KDSG budgets N100M for mining exploration – Commissioner

Kaduna State Government had set aside N100million to start mining exploration in state in order to know the actually place the gold deposit in commercial quantity in Birning Gwari is.
The Gold was discovered since 1991 in Birnin gwari.
Speaking throngh Its Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Shehu Balarabe while addressing a press conference on to mark the one year of Governor Nasir El-rufai’s in office, said the government is set to begin mining exploration immediately in the State.
The Commissioner explained that the state Government through
the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources commissioned two geo-analytical firms to conduct Geological/Minerals survey in the state which indicates that Kaduna State is blessed with eleven different mineral deposits with high prospects.

According to him, the mineral deposits cut across the 23 Local government councils and the state government is ready to assist the ministry in any way to explore all areas of mining in the State.
“Also, the state government  currently engaged the services of KIAN SMITH trade Company limited as the State consultant on matters relating to the development and successful implementation of the state’s vision on the solid minerals sector” he declared.          .
According to him, “the consultant has been empowered by the State Government to interact with relevant agencies on variety ofadvisory, operational tasks and activities on behalf of the State
Government.”
He however noted that the mining exploration will provide massive employment to the teaming youths to make them self reliant which will enhance security in the State.
