Katsina takes delivery of last stock of fertiliser

Twenty-truck load of fertilizer have arrived Katsina State being balance of the forty percent of the commodity procured for farmers in Daura and Katsina zones.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari confirmed this in a questions and answer sessions with local and foreign media representatives at government house.
He also disclosed that the fertilizer allocation and distribution meant for Funtua zone has attained one hundred percent.
The Governor further said two hundred and fifty thousand tones of fertilizer would be sourced for dry season for states of Katsina, Zamfara, Kano, Sokoto, Kebbi and Jigawa.
Masari also assured that cotton production would be fully revived, while efforts are on to upgrade the Katsina Hospital into a teaching one to facilitate take-off of faculty of medicine at Umaru Musa Yara’adua University.
On the abandoned Mani Flour Company, Funtua Burnt Bricks and others initiated by the defunct PRP administration in the second republic, Governor Aminu Bello Masari assured that they would be made operational in the course of time.
On his part, the Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Mohammed Inuwa said the NNDC recently inspected the Songhai farms in Zobe with a view at making it productive.
Also, the special adviser on agriculture, Dr. Abba Abdullahi revealed that there are proposals from different bodies wising to enter into agreement for the use of the Songhai farms center for training of youth in farming.
