Former President of Court of Appeal Justice Umaru Abdullahi has said Katsina is gradually losing its leading role in education pursuits.
He made this point in Katsina during the commissioning of twelve classrooms, office blocks and computer center by Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
The project was donated to the Community Day Secondary School, Kadandani by a philanthropist in the area.
Masari directed the Commissioner for Education to mobilize Engineers of the Ministry to the site for the commencement of the construction of a wall fencing in the school.
Aminu Bello Masari assured that other request on electricity and laboratory at the school would be addressed accordingly.
He noted that the decay in the education sector has gone bad but with political will the situation could be reversed.
According to him, developed countries like India, Malaysia and Singapore thrived on education rather than petroleum products.
He reaffirmed that the present administration’s resolve to restore the lost glory of education is non negotiable.
In her remark, the Commissioner for Education Professor Halimatu applauded the efforts of the philanthropist for training and retraining programmes to staff of the Ministry as well as provision of the ICT facilities to participants.
