Katsina Govt, UNICEF Inaugurate 27-man Committee On Girl-child Education

 A twenty seven man committee has been inaugurated to ensure the continuation of girl child education to completion in Katsina State.

The Katsina State Ministry of Education in collaboration with UNICEF, inaugurated the committee at a one-day meeting on Adolescent Girls Transition.

In his inaugural speech, the Executive Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Lawal Buhari Daura said the aim of the committee is to join hands with stakeholders to ensure the transition of girl education.

According to him, the state government was in the forefront towards repositioning education sector from grassroots.

Alhaji Lawal Buhari Daura urged members of the committee to redouble  efforts in discharging their assign duties to achieve success.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, represented by Director Planning, Research and Statistics, Husamatu Mohammed Gona said the setting up of the committee came at the right time towards boosting the girl-child education for its importance in the society.

In their separate remarks, Hajiya Wasila Sani Saulawa and Hajiya Lubabatu Sada disclosed the problems  himder the girl-child education and the ways of solving such problems.

The committee consists of representatives from Ministry of Education, SUBEB, Ministry of Women Affairs, Traditional Institutions, HILWA among others.
