Katsina State Government has approved 28 million Naira for the total rehabilitation of Dutsi Earth Dam in Dutsi local Government area of the state.
The rehabilitation followed damage caused by termite hub at the embankment of the dam, which resulted to overflow.
The state Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Hamza Sule Faskari disclosed this when he visited the dam site to see the extent of damage caused by the overflow.
He said Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s administration is moving to reactivate the dam to its normal status to make it functional.
Alhaji Hamza Sule Faskari said all arrangements have been completed for the commencement of the repair work of the Dutsi Earth Dam.
In a remark, the Marusan Katsina District Head of Dutsi, Alhaji Muhammad Lawal Sani commended the foresight of Governor Radda for the prompt action to save the dam from collapse.
The royal father who assured traditional leaders support to Government policies and programmes urged the Government to continue to focus on the execution of peoples oriented projects.
