Kano is one of the biggest cities in Nigeria with over N10m population as according to the last 2006 census, while the city remains the centre of commercial activities and business fortunes.
The state is now calm and peaceful, despite a brief misunderstanding between the state Islamic Police popularly known as "Hisbah" and alcohol sellers at Sabon Gari area where has remained the hub of non-indigenes for decades.
New Nigerian made an investigation and findings about the incident where our correspondent gathered that the matter started when the men of Hisbah command stormed Sabon Gari area trying to make some findings about some suspicious places that sell alcoholic drinks and other substances, where a brief clash erupted before it was controlled.
In another effort by the security agencies to protect a planned protest by some civil societies, our correspondent who was able to reach Kano press center for news verification, reports that the centre was sealed by the combined security agencies based on the information they got that a protest concerning insecurity had been planned and scheduled to hold at the centre.
As at the time of filing this report, there was no violence across the city and other parts of the state, while all the markets like Sabon Gari, Singer, Kantin Kwari and other bussiness locations such as Bata, Yankura, Wapa and Yankaba were seen busy and peaceful.
