Kano Electric Consumers Decry Exorbitant Estimated Bills

Most Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) consumers, that received August estimated bill which reflected the new tariff hike, complained bitterly on how KEDCO increased their bills from N2,000, to N7,000.

Aminu, one of the consumers, resident in Naibawa Gabas in Kano metropolis said, “my average monthly estimated bill before this increase was N1,400 but to my surprise, this bill brought in September 2021, says that, I should pay N6,347 for what?” He asked rhetorically.

Another consumer complained that he didn’t believe what he saw on the bill distributed in September from KEDCO.

“They increased my ADC from 1.77 to 7.77 just like that I used to pay N1.400 but know they charge me N6,347 my house is a two bed room, I can’t afford this, ” he lamented.

Investigations by this reporter showed that ,generally, Kano Electricity Distribution Company increased its estimated bills to consumers without prior notice.
