National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie Oyegun has waded into the lingering internal brawl in the Kano chapter of the party emanating from the clash between the State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and his former boss, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The crisis, which has threatened the unity of the party in the state was brought to the notice of the National Chairman through a complained submitted by the Kano chapter of the party.
Addressing the gathering at the National Secretariat, Oyegun said the authority of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in Kano cannot be question as the leader of the party in the state.
According him, “We have only one government in Kano and there is no question about that. His authority must be upheld and there is no question about that. The governor is not on trial, there is no question about that.
The National Chairman who was in company of the National Secretary Mai Mala Buni, the Deputy National Chairman South West, Segun Oni, said it is important to give the governor the atmosphere that will  enable him to perform successfully especially at this time of lean resources.
He described the fight as an internal matter between two friends who have worked together as brothers and that it is unfortunate that these differences have developed between them.
The Chairman however warned against furthering the crisis by supporters and followers of the two big political figures who are equally great and respected leaders of the party.
He added that, the party does not require such internal brawl while stating that, Kano State is a strategic state to the APC, which cannot be allowed to be submerged in a crisis like this.
“Let me warn that the greatest disservice you can do to ourselves now is to be having internal wars within the party, internal war in a state as critical to us as Kano state. Kano is an important and critical state to the APC.”
Also speaking, Abdullahi Abbas Sanusi, the newly appointed Acting Chairman of the party in Kano told newsmen, that state chapter of the party is united and intact while giving the assurances that the party will continue to forge a united front in all segments of the party in  Kano state.
Speaking on the sudden drop of the signature red cap of the Kwankwasiyya political movement, the chairman said, “It is not a question of change. I think now it is optional. If you like you can put it. Now there is change so now we have a free hand to do whatever they (party members) want to do. If you want red you put it on, if you want green, if you want black, its optional. You can put on anything you want”.
Prominent members members at the meeting include; Honourable Alhasan Ado Doguwa, several members of the Federal House of Representatives, Members of Kano State House of Assembly among other party leaders.
